he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

inger Lakes end of season awards come in with 25 First and 24 Second Team All County Players.  There are also 20 Honorable Mention Players.  In addition, there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans.  As well as Defense Player of the Year, a Midfield Player of the Year and an Attack Player of the Year.

# 259  Waterloo Scores Seven Straight to Start Second Half
ayne hosted their fifth annual “Cradle for a Cure” event today. Waterloo defeated the Eagles 17-9.  The “Cradle for a Cure” event began five years ago as a fundraising/awareness event after a local lacrosse player received a cancer diagnosis.  Every year since, Wayne has hosted a multigame event with boys and girls lax with the hope of donating to both local charities and a local family in need of assistance.  After this game, the Boys hosted Gananda and defeated the Panthers 23-5 (HERE).

# 250  Arnold Leads Pal-Mac
al-Mac scored the first 11 goals in their 14-3 win over Waterloo.  Sophomore Emma Arnold had a standout game for the Red Raiders.  She finished with 4g-2a, 4 draw controls, 5 ground balls and 1 caused turnover.  She was also a key defensive player in the game.  Between the pipes, Sophia Leva also had a strong game for Pal-Mac, she recorded 6 saves and had 3 interceptions when she left the pipes.

here were 11 match-ups tonight to end the Week.  Two previously undefeated teams lost their first game tonight: Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 5-3 and Churchville-Chili defeated Lake Shore 14-8.  Brighton defeated RH 8-6 to remaining the only undefeated team (8-0) in Section Five.  Geneva defeated Gananda 7-5, Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 14-0, Mercy defeated Amherst 15-5, Waterloo defeated Mt. Mercy 14-2, Livonia defeated Wayne 9-8, Irondequoit defeated Victor 10-7, Newark defeated Midlakes 9-5 and Thomas defeated Schroeder 12-6.

Brighton defeated Pittsford 8-6 to remain undefeated at 7-0; the Panthers fell to 7-1.  Last night, Aquinas won another to improve to 8-0.  Additional games today included, Geneva over Newark 14-10, Marcus Whitman over Gananda 14-5, Wayne over Midlakes 11-9 and Waterloo over Penn Yan 11-7.

here were 10 matches this afternoon.  Two of the games were one goal games with Geneva defeating Wayne 9-8 and Spencerport defeating Canandaigua 10-9.  Other games included, Gananda over Ath/Ody 8-5, Oly/Arc over Gates Chili 21-6, Ithaca over Irondequoit 11-8, Marcus Whitman over Newark 16-6, Waterloo over Midlakes 17-4, Pal-Mac over Mynderse 17-5, Thomas over Mercy 21-10 and Brighton over HFL 13-5.

The Semi-Final match-ups will be played over the next two days.  The Class A games will played on May 26th at HF-L.  The Class B game will be played on May 27th at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class C games will be played on May 27th at Victor.

# 55  Six Different Scorers Lift Waterloo over Geneva
n a game that was never more than two goals apart, Waterloo defeated Geneva 7-5.  The Indians had six different girls score their seven goals.  There were only two times in the entire game where the same team scored back to back with Waterloo adding two both times.  All five goals for Geneva were scored by different girls.
